Here
we are again, same time, same place only 2 years later. We poked our nose outside the Airport
Terminal and were greeted with blue sky and lovely warm weather.
Our first priority was to collect a hire car from Avis. They gave us a Kia Soul, the colour was a bit iffy but it proved to be a nippy little thing and so easy to park. Allen showed his true spirit and jumped into the driver’s seat and headed for the 6 lane Freeway. OMG it all comes flooding back.
Drove
to Santa Monica and checked into the Comfort Inn,
‘comfort’ being the key
word. We opened the door of our room and there were 2 Queen size beds – what a beautiful sight after almost 40 hours of traveling. A quick nana nap did the trick and then we were ready to hit the town.

It
was a warm evening and we strolled down the Santa Monica Promenade. It’s a trendy place full of top brand
outlets, movie theatres, restaurants and night clubs. We settled for George’s Bistro and had the most amazing meal. As I sat outside drinking a glass of wine and
listening to the street performers I thought, jet lag – what jet lag!!!
